Dean Chemerinsky became the 13th Dean of Berkeley Law in 2017, after serving as the founding Dean of UC Irvine School of Law. He has also taught at Duke, USC, and DePaul. Widely regarded as one of the most influential voices in American legal education, he is the author of 19 books—including Worse than Nothing: The Dangerous Fallacy of Originalism (2022) and Presumed Guilty: How the Supreme Court Empowered the Police and Subverted Civil Rights (2021)—and over 200 law review articles.

He is a frequent commentator in national media, contributes regular columns to the Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, ABA Journal, and Daily Journal, and has argued cases before the United States Supreme Court. In 2024, National Jurist named him the most influential person in legal education.

Dean Chemerinsky’s 10–15 minute keynote will close the evening, offering a timely and inspiring look at the future of law, justice, and our courts.
