About the Section

The newly created ACBA Criminal Law Section provides networking opportunities and continuing legal education programs for judges and attorneys practicing in the criminal justice system. The Section also serves as a liaison with the Superior Court on issues related to practicing law in Alameda County.

Court Appointed Attorneys Program

The ACBA also runs the Criminal Court Appointed Attorneys Program (CAAP), which administers the conflicts program for Alameda County. For more information on CAAP, click here.

1.25.21 – New Misdo Dispo calendar

Judge Sharon Djemal will be running this calendar:

  • The Misdemeanor Dispo calendar is starting this Tuesday morning, January 26 at 9AM.
  • To add matters to the calendar, please email the case information and plea forms (with fine form attached) to
  • To begin, they will limit the calendar to 10 misdemeanor pleas in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. The deadline to add matters is no later than 3PM on Monday.
  • Attorneys can appear on all cases pursuant to 977 except that the defendant should be there via BlueJeans if a CPO is part of the plea.

BlueJeans meetings

The Court has started restricting access to Court by requiring user to have a passcode in order to gain access to the Blue Jeans court sessions. As a justice partner of the Court’s, the ACBA is happy to share these codes on an as-needed basis. If you need the passcodes, please contact
