In-custody felony and misdemeanor criminal cases scheduled to take place in the East County Hall of Justice on Wednesday were moved to the Court’s Rene C. Davidson Courthouse in Oakland after a power failure at the Dublin courthouse caused a closure of the building.

In-custody felony criminal cases moved to Department 11 and in-custody misdemeanor cases moved to Department 2. A total of 281 cases were relocated Wednesday.

The power failure at the East County Hall of Justice was due to ongoing maintenance and repairs of the main power source to the building. As the repairs were proceeding, the building was utilizing a backup generator as its sole power source. That generator failed this morning.

Contractors were able to make repairs to the generator and had it working Wednesday afternoon.

The Court apologizes for any inconvenience this power outage has caused.
