Funding to help reunite familes 

There is a great need for funding in response to our latest disaster, the incarceration and separation of families at borders. As you’ve no doubt heard, RAICES has been the beneficiary of a now $20 million campaign to support their work with these families and kids. Which is terrific. There are, however, many other organizations on the ground trying to respond to this crisis, and they still have only the funding they had when this all started.

We are all familiar with this problem from our experiences with disaster giving. The Texas Access to Justice Foundation, which operates a little like our IOLTA commission and plays an active, coordinating role, has set up a fund that people can donate to. The funds will be distributed – every dollar – to agencies doing this work across the state. Please help spread the word about this important campaign. The link is here:
