The ACBA will close for a week to give staff a chance to recharge
The Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA) is excited to announce that we are giving our staff a well-deserved break to combat burnout and recharge. The ACBA and Legal Access Alameda will be closed from Monday, July 1st through Friday, July 5th, reopening on Monday, July 8th.
Our new CEO, Hadassah Hayashi, supports this initiative as part of our commitment to employee well-being. “Extended vacation time enhances our team’s mental, emotional, and physical health,” said Hadassah. “By closing for a week, we ensure that our staff can fully disconnect and enjoy their break without the pressure to work during their time off.”
The pandemic has taught us valuable lessons about flexibility and the importance of not adhering to old norms. Our entire team now works remotely, eliminating the need to endure traffic or unreliable public transit. This shift provides our staff with greater flexibility for childcare and adaptable work schedules.
Despite these changes, our commitment to serving you remains strong. Our staff and volunteers on the Section Executive Committees have continued to deliver the programs and events you value. We’ve expanded our offerings, transitioning all MCLE programs to an online platform, making it easier than ever for members across California to access unlimited free MCLEs.
At the ACBA, we understand that a positive company culture and the well-being of our employees are vital to meeting the needs of our members. We look forward to returning to work on July 8th, re-energized and ready to tackle new challenges.
For questions regarding our closure, please contact CEO Hadassah Hayashi at hadassah@acbanet.org before June 28th. For urgent matters during the closure, you can reach us at officeclosure@acbanet.org, which will be monitored periodically. We encourage you to schedule delayed delivery emails or wait until we reopen to contact our staff.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
