Department of Child Support Services Cases Moving to In-Person Hearings

Hearings held in Departments 508 and 509 at the Hayward Hall of Justice will now be in-person.

Hayward, Calif. – November 17, 2023 – All hearings scheduled in Departments 508 and 509 will be moving to in-person starting December 1, 2023, unless otherwise approved by a Court Commissioner. This involves all Department of Child Support Services Cases (DCSS) and any other case types heard in Departments 508 and 509.

The hearings, assigned to Departments 508 and 509 at the Hayward Hall of Justice, have been held remotely since the pandemic began in 2020, but will now be in-person to align with other legal proceedings in Family Law within the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda.

Anyone seeking to have their hearing held remotely must file a Notice of Remote Appearance (Judicial Council Form, RA-010) and have the judge or court commissioner presiding over the hearing approve the request.
