Donation Drive for Covenant House

The ACBA Barristers Section is organizing a donation drive again this December for Covenant House. Covenant House is a statewide charity that provides housing, education, counseling, and transitional services for homeless youth (of which there are many) in Alameda County.  Covenant House’s main Alameda County office is located in Oakland.

They are specifically requesting that we donate Deodorant, Body Wash, Underwear (S, M, L), Bras (S-XL), Belts, Shoes (especially M-10-12), Water Bottles, Umbrellas; Ponchos, Backpacks, Chargers (iPhone mainly, also Android), and Starbucks or McDonalds (Restaurant) Small $ Gift Cards.  They have also provided a donation link for cash donations and an amazon wish list.  All donations to Covenant House are tax deductible, including donations of cash.

We have secured a small conference room in the Alameda Law Library (downstairs from BALI) for donations of the following items to this charityThe library reference desk is open M – F, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, and during these hours people can bring their donations to the Reference Desk located in the middle of the first floor of the library.  A library staff member will then unlock the door to Conference Room 6 so the person making the donation can place their items in the room.

Here are the donation links if you prefer to make cash donations or purchase and send Amazon items directly to Covenant House.  When you make your donations, make sure to reference in the comments or subject line that this is a donation for the ACBA barristers donation drive.
