Alameda County Superior Court issued Emergency Rule 1.8a on Friday April 10 creating rules relating to what may be filed through fax filing and what is still available for filing via drop boxes in Hayward, Oakland (RCD) and Berkeley.  As of this afternoon(April 13, 2020) fax filing is up and running.

In family, requests for restraining orders (responses and proofs of service), ex parte temporary emergency orders (and responses), stipulations and orders (including requests for appointment of private judges, mediators and experts) and limited DCSS filings will be permitted.

Fax filing should include the cover sheet with method of payment for filing fees and fax surcharge fees.  Those with fee waivers on file will not be charged a fax filing surcharge.
