Alameda County Shelter in Place

The Alameda County Health Department, along with 5 other Bay Area Counties have issued a shelter in place order this afternoon, effective at midnight tonight.

All residents are directed to stay home except for activities like getting services or supplies. People can also walk, take pets out, and hike and run outdoors provided they maintain at least 6 feet of distance from each other. All businesses other than those deemed essential must close. Take-out and delivery of food and coffee are permitted.

We’re closely monitoring the Court to see what this means for court cases in Alameda County and will update this page with more information as we have it. For now, the Chief Justice has issued guidelines on how to expedite emergency orders: https://newsroom.courts.ca.gov/news/california-chief-justice-issues-guidance-to-expedite-court-emergency-orders

For other shelter in place questions, the SF Chronicle posted a helpful article: https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Bay-Area-to-shelter-in-place-What-you-need-15135087.php?fbclid=IwAR0dy7a15pWhbDJ5QNqn2E2C61Jfi3kekrWgcsnlDrI7CI0kSDse8OdLKo8

The ACBA will follow the Health Department’s orders and will be extending our closed period until April 7, at least for now, subject to shortening or extension. We plan to offer CLEs during this period via our new live streaming platform.
