We were honored to have more than 230 guests in attendance at the 2016 ACBA Installation and Distinguished Service Awards Dinner at the Rotunda Building in Oakland’s City Center.
The 2016 ACBA officers are: President Stephanie Sato, of the Law offices of Stephanie Sato. Stephanie is a divorce and family law attorney in Oakland; President-Elect Eric Handler, a partner at Donahue Fitzgerald LLP in Oakland. Eric specializes in IP law, commercial litigation, and bankruptcy; Michael Johnson, Executive Director and Senior Legal Counsel with AT&T Services Inc. Michael specializes in healthcare and governmental contracting issues. Directors include: Colin Bowen, Megan Burns, Micha Star Liberty, Joy Ricardo-Clay, Pelayo A. Llamas Jr., Lauren Powe, Pamela Ross, Jr., Vincent Tong, Paul Wellenkamp, and serving Ex-Officio, Toni Mims-Cochran and Jo-Anna Nieves.
We heard from Congressman Mike Honda who congratulated the award recipients, and reminded us to get out and make a difference.

The evening was capped off by remarks from Associate Justice Ming Chin, Supreme Court of California. He shared stories about his time on the bench, from his time as an Alameda County Superior Court Judge to California’s Supreme Court.
