ACBA Business Law and Barristers Sections
The Bay Area is the epicenter of startup businesses in software, mobile apps, green products, e-commerce solutions, food and beverage products, socially aware service offerings and many other innovative ideas. In this one-hour MCLE lunch program, Laurie Sanders and Rafael Pacquing will outline the fundamental issues and questions that arise when representing a new business at its initial stages. As a general practitioner or a newly licensed attorney, you may have been asked by business associates, former college roommates, or others in your network to help them form an entity for their new product or service. The program will include real scenarios and sources for forms and other helpful information.
In a future program Laurie and Rafael will address financing the ongoing business, including venture capital and angel financing, and day-to-day operations, including basic contracts and other matters, followed up with a final program in guiding the business to a successful exit via a merger, acquisition, or IPO.
April 8, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

In this program an expert panel (experienced trial lawyer Mark Mosley, Forensic Pathologist Dr. Judy Melinek, and Accident Reconstruction Engineer Craig Fries) will discuss the mechanics of retaining and preparing expert witnesses.
