Expand Your Practice – Join the ACBA Lawyer Referral Service!

LRS 50 Years IconYou are invited to join the ACBA Lawyer Referral Service

Why should you join the ACBA Lawyer Referral Service?

The ACBA Lawyer Referral Service is a great way to build your practice while giving back to the community. If you’re a section member and want to try LRS for the first time, we will waive the LRS annual dues – a $280 value!

LRS receives more than 18,000 calls and emails a year. Our trained staff only refer cases matching your experience and interests. As an LRS panel member, you receive quality referrals for a small fraction of the cost of advertising in the yellow pages or on the internet. Whether you are hanging a shingle for the first time, or have an established practice, we can help your practice grow.

How does the Lawyer Referral Service work?

As a member of the Lawyer Referral Service, you will receive carefully, pre-screened referrals via email which you may choose to accept or decline.  You are expected to provide a brief consultation (20 – 30 minutes over the phone) to LRS clients free of charge.  Then, you may decide whether to offer the client a retainer agreement.   You are expected to keep track of your referred cases through the Lawyer Referral Service case management system.   Lawyer Referral Service attorneys pay a forwarding fee of 15% of any attorney’s fees received.  Lastly, Lawyer Referral Service attorneys must carry malpractice insurance.

If you would like further information about the ACBA Lawyer Referral Service, have questions or would like to apply, please contact Rachel Shigekane,  Rachel@acbanet.org.
