Notice: Improved Online Access from the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda

The Court will implement Improved Online Access to Civil Case Records through the establishment of a document charging portal on the Court’s website. When fully implemented, this new functionality will allow the public to search, view and download most Civil public records, via Name and Case Search functionality, for a fee, as follows:
Name Search, which will allow the public to find cases associated with a specific name
$1.00 per search
This new functionality is now available and accessible via the Superior Court website.
Case Search, which will enable the viewing and downloading of documents by the public, for a fee, as authorized by California Rule of Court rule 2.506(a), which allows courts to impose fees for the cost of providing public access to electronic records.
$1.00 per page for the first 5 pages
$0.50 for each additional page thereafter
$40.00 maximum charge per document
Importantly, the following documents will continue to be accessible free of charge:
• Law and Motion Tentative Rulings
• Tentative and Final Case Management Conference Rulings
• Probate Examiner Notes
In addition, the public will continue to be able to view the Register of Actions, free of charge. New viewing and downloading charges will take effect in early April, 2014.
