A 90 minute panel presentation from an Alameda County Judge, a private practitioner, and a Deputy District Attorney, providing ideas and suggestions, based on professional experiences. To help new and recent admitees ethically and more competently navigate through the Alameda County courts and legal system.

Judge Cecilia P. Castellanos

Judge Castellanos was appointed to the municipal court in 1997, and elevated to the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, following consolidation. She is currently assigned to the Probate Court. Prior to her appointment, she practiced civil litigation in Oakland specializing in education and employment law, as well as a trial attorney and hearings manager for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division in Washington, D.C. She received her J.D. from University of Arizona, College of Law.
Cheryl M. Poncini

Cheryl M. Poncini is deputy district attorney in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, where she is currently assigned to the Elder Abuse Unit, and was previously assigned to the Juvenile Division. She also serves on the ACBA Board of Directors and is the Board Liaison to the ACBA Senior Counsel Section. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Russian Studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
Robert J. Frassetto

Bob Frassetto is a civil litigator, mediator, and founding partner of Frassetto Herbert LLP, specializing in the defense of business organizations and property owners. He also serves on the ACBA Board of Directors and is the past Chair, a current Executive Committee member, and Board Liaison for the ACBA ADR Section. Mr. Frassetto obtained a B.A. in English Literature from UCLA and a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
