Richard M. Pearl received his BA degree in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1966. He received his JD degree from Boalt Hall School of Law in Berkeley in 1969.
After working in federally-funded Legal Services programs for 14 years, he has been in private practice since 1983. He now practices as a sole practitioner in Berkeley, working primarily on cases involving court-awarded attorneys' fees, class actions, and appeals. He is the author of California Attorney Fee Awards, 3d Ed., published by CEB in 2010, and has authored its annual updates. For 26 years, he has also served as an adjunct Professor at Hastings Law School teaching Public Interest Law.
