ACBA Board of Directors

The ACBA Board of Directors meets on the first Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July and August, to act on issues affecting the association, its members, and the community. Additionally, board members serve on special board committees and act as liaisons between the Board and ACBA sections and committees.

Robert Frassetto is a partner at Frassetto Law LLP in Oakland. He has served as a private and court-appointed mediator for more than fifteen years and is a former Chair of the ACBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Section.

Toni is the co-chair of the East Bay Diversity Bar Coalition, a former President of Women Lawyers of Alameda County, the District 3 Governor of California Women Lawyers,  and a member of the Charles Houston Bar Association.

Michael P. Johnson is In-House Counsel with AT&T in San Ramon. A former business and civil litigator, he is also the 2014 President of the ACBA Volunteer Legal Services Corporation Board of Directors.

Micha Star Liberty  is a civil rights attorney specializing in litigation, serious injury, civil rights, sexual abuse and employment matters.
A graduate of Hastings, she has served on numerous bar association boards including the State Bar of California Board of Governors and the Contra  Costa Trial Lawyers Association.


Pelayo Llamas received his J.D. from Santa Clara University in 1992, and has been a deputy at the Oakland City Attorney's Office since 1999.  He has broad experience in civil litigation and municipal law advice. Pelayo is the ACBA's appointee to the state Bench Bar Coalition, whose charge includes communicating the budgetary needs of the bench and bar to the state legislators.

Cheryl M. Poncini is deputy district attorney in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, where she is currently assigned to the Elder and Dependent Adult Protection Unit . She is a graduate of Santa Clara University School of Law, and received a Masters degree in Public Administration in March 2013 from CSU East Bay.


Nedra A. Shawler is an attorney in the Office of Alameda County Counsel, where she focuses on government law, child welfare, healthcare, and probate. She has been active on the ACBA East Bay Diversity Bar Coalition, serving as co-chair  from 2008-2009, and is former President of the Charles Houston Bar Association.
