Golden Gate University School of Law – Associate Director for Bar Performance and Assessment: Under the supervision of the Faculty Director of Bar Services, the Associate Director will design and implement a comprehensive communications and monitoring system to annually track student preparation and performance on the bar exam by graduating class in all jurisdictions, and assume primary responsibility for collecting and analyzing a wide range of bar performance data for reporting to the law school faculty, university senior leadership and accrediting agencies. The Associate Director will also oversee the delivery of the law school’s 3L/4L and post-graduation bar exam preparation curriculum and programming, including but not limited to the alumni bar mentoring program, essay feedback program and simulated exams. FAMILY LAW ATTORNEY NEEDED IN CASTRO VALLEY, CA: All for the Family Legal Clinic, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit legal clinic dedicated to serving low income and middle income families in the Bay Area. There is an opportunity for either a 1099 contractor position or a full time employee position depending on desired candidate’s experience and availability. Attorney will handle family law cases, mostly related to divorce, custody, and restraining orders. Most cases will be in Alameda County; however we do also practice in Contra Costa, San Mateo, Santa Clara, and San Francisco counties.

Requirements:

  • Active California Bar Membership required
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Family Law (internships may be considered toward experience). Great entry-level position
  • Self-starter, as you will have the ability to work from home
  • Ability to complete tasks without much guidance and training
  • Ability to come into the office in Castro Valley at least 3 days per week for meetings with clients, to check mail, and to discuss cases as needed (once reopen office after Covid closure)
  • Detail oriented as filings and briefs require extensive attention to detail
  • Ability to do own legal research and writing as needed; Familiarity with family law forms
  • Must be able to get to court hearings as required
  • After attorney builds up a full case load, they should expect to bill between 20-30 hours per week (or 1200+ hours per year)

Center for Youth Development through Law (www.youthlawworks.org) is hiring two remote, part-time instructors to teach Law to high school students for a few hours per week this summer. CYDL seeks remote instructors for our summer program for youth from first-generation and marginalized backgrounds who are interested in law and social justice.  The paid positions entail teaching online for a few hours per week during regular business hours, between June 14 and August 6.  Using established curriculum materials, instructors will teach either Race & the Constitution or Mock Trials.  Prior teaching experience is not required.  People of color are strongly encouraged to apply.   To apply, please send a brief cover email and resume to Nancy Schiff at nschiff@youthlawworks.org.
