Lawyer Referral Service For Attorneys

The Alameda County Bar Association's Lawyer Referral Service refers clients to attorneys who have been screened and assigned to various subject matter panels. Certified by the American Bar Association and the State Bar of California, LRS refers hundreds of lawyers to thousands of middle-income clients each year. What Is LRS?

The Lawyer Referral Service is a nonprofit organization that matches clients who need representation with lawyers who can help. The LRS refers thousands of cases to over 125 panel members in various areas of law, performing a valuable service to the public and to our panel members.

Why Join LRS?

LRS Brings Clients to You
LRS receives over 30,000 calls a year. Our trained staff only refers cases matching your experience and interest. So whether you're hanging out a shingle for the first time or belong to an established practice, we can help your practice grow.

Membership = Advertising Benefits
Our service is well established and respected in the Alameda County legal community. As an LRS panel member, you receive quality referrals for a small fraction of the cost of advertising in the yellow pages.

How LRS Works

Step 1: A client calls the Lawyer Referral Service and explains his or her legal problem to a professional referral counselor.

Step 2: After evaluating the case, the LRS counselor contacts an attorney in that specialty area to ask if he or she would like to meet with this client.

Step 3: When a panel member accepts an LRS referral, LRS provides contact information to the client and the panel member.

Step 4: The client calls you directly to schedule an appointment. You meet with the client for an initial consultation of up to thirty minutes. At that time, you can decide whether you can help them and discuss your fee arrangement.

Joining LRS Is Easy

You are eligible to join the Lawyer Referral Service if you:

  • Maintain an office in Alameda County
  • Carry malpractice insurance
  • Provide proof of experience for required panels
